Application for Visas for Thailand
Basic requirements for Hungarian citizens:
- passport valid at least 6 months after the expected date of entry into Thailand
- one filled-in application form per person, including accompanying child(ren)
- two passport-sized photos per person
- visa fee (Please refer to "Payment of Visa Fees" section for payment method)
- Medical "Fit-to-Fly" Certificate, as of 19 March 2020
Type of Visas and Application Fees
1. TRANSIT VISA
Holder of transit visa will be allowed to stay in Thailand for 30 days without extension. Applicant is not permitted to engage in any occupation or employment. A confirmed ticket for onward destination must be shown to the officer at the port of entry.
Application fee: 30 euro per entry
Basic requirements for Hungarian citizens:
- passport valid at least 6 months after the expected date of entry into Thailand
- one filled-in application form per person, including accompanying child(ren)
- two passport-sized photos per person
- visa fee
- Copy of air ticket/ reservation
- For non-Hungarian citizens, 3 months bank statement is required.
2. TOURIST VISA
Holder of tourist visa will be allowed to stay in Thailand for 60 days. An extension of stay for other 30 days may be granted by the Immigration Bureau in Bangkok. Applicant is not permitted to engage in any occupation or employment.
Application fee: 35 Euro per entry
Basic requirements for Hungarian citizens:
- passport valid at least 6 months after the expected date of entry into Thailand
- one filled-in application form per person, including accompanying child(ren)
- two passport-sized photos per person
- visa fee
- Copy of air ticket/ reservation
- For non-Hungarian citizens with residence permit in Hungary, 3 months bank statement is required.
3. MULTIPLE ENTRY TOURIST VISA (METV)
From 13 November 2015, the Royal Thai Government has put into effect this new visa category. It is available to tourists of all nationalities who have residence permit in Hungary. The visa validity will be 6 months and the passport holder will be allowed to stay in Thailand up to 60 days per visit. The visa fee is 175 euro. The double and triple entry tourist visa will be no longer available.
Basic requirement:
1. Passport with validity of at least 6 months after the expected date of entry into Thailand
2. One fillled-in application form per person, including 2 passport-sized photos per person
3. Visa fee (175 euro)
4. Copy of air ticket/ reservation
5. Copy of accommodation in Thailand
6. Residence permit
7. Six months bank statement which has at least 5,500 euro
8. Proof of employment
4. NON-IMMIGRANT VISA:
Holder of non-immigrant visa will be allowed to stay in Thailand for 90 days without extension. Applicant must submit an official letter from a Thai/Hungarian company specifying purpose of visit.
Application fee: 70 euro per entry, multiple entry visa: 175 euro
The requirements are in accordance with the regulation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

5. NON-IMMIGRANT VISA OVER 90 DAYS:
The issuance of this visa must obtain prior approval from the Immigration Bureau in Thailand.

The applicant is required to submit the name and address of his/her guarantor or reference in Thailand who will be responsible for the applicant during his/her stay in Thailand. In this respect a health certificate, criminal record, bank/financial statements, and other documents certifying title, function, qualifications, purpose and duration of stay in Thailand are also required. The guarantor or sponsoring firms or organizations in Thailand may also apply such visa directly to the Immigration Division in Bangkok on behalf of the applicant.

Payment of Visa Fees
Only by cash deposit payment to the Embassy's Bank Account prior to submitting visa application. The Embassy does not accept cash payment.

Please be advised that the visa fee does not include bank transaction charge, which should be paid additionally to the bank. Visa fees cannot be refunded in any case.
Short Transit to Other Destinations
Foreigners, who travel via Thailand to other destinations from the same port of entry, are allowed to transit without a visa. In this regard, the Thai Immigration Division is authorized to instruct the airlines or persons in charge of the transit to ensure that the transit passengers remain in a prescribed area. Should the transit passengers be forced for any reason to remain in the prescribed area for a period longer than expected, the Immigration Division may allow such passengers to do so under guarantees by the airlines or persons in charge of the transit.
Validity of Visa
The visa must be used within 90 days from the date of issuance. Should the applicant be unable to enter Thailand within this period, an extension of 90 days can be granted by the Thai Embassy of Consulate issuing the visa with additional charge of a new fee. The total validity of the visa must not exceed 6 months.
Visa on Arrival and Exemption of Visa
By virtue of the Order of the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand No.1/2563 dated 12 March B.E. 2563 (2020), as a measure to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Thailand will temporarily suspend, from 13 March - 30 September 2020
