Announcement from The Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest

The Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest issues e-visas to applicants residing in the following countries:

  •  Hungary
  •  Croatia
  •  Bosnia and Herzegovina
  •  Montenegro
  •  Kosovo.

Visa applications submitted by nationals of other countries will be accepted only if the applicant holds a valid residence permit and/or an officially registered address in one of the countries listed above. The applicant must present an official document confirming their registered address (e.g., an “Address Card”) and a copy must be attached at the time the e-Visa application is submitted.

- As from 1 November 2022, application for a Thai visa can be submitted only through online e-Visa platform at  http://thaievisa.go.th

-Applicants are no longer required to submit their passports and original supporting documents either in person or by post to the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest.

-In submitting the e-application, please provide accurate information, especially the spelling of names, e-mail address and passport numbers as the said information cannot be changed once it is submitted. Also take note that visa fees are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, regardless of application outcome or withdrawal.

-After the e-Visa application is approved, confirmation e-mails will be sent to the applicants. You are then requested to print a copy of that confirmation e-mail for presenting to the airlines and the Thai immigration officials to check when arriving in Thailand.

-Please apply in advance and allow 5–15 working days for the Embassy to process your application. This timeframe is fixed and cannot be expedited. Additional time may be required if further documents or an interview is requested.
