เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงซาเกรบ เข้าร่วมงานเก็บเกี่ยวองุ่นสำหรับหัวหน้าคณะทุตานุทูต

เมื่อวันที่ 9 กันยายน 2553  เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงซาเกรบ ถิ่นพำนัก ณ กรุงบูดาเปสต์ กาญจน์ ชีรานนท์ได้รับเชิญให้เข้าร่วมงานเก็บเกี่ยวองุ่นสำหรับหัวหน้าคณะทุตานุทูตประจำสาธารณรัฐโครเอเชีย (Diplomatic Grape Harvest) ตามคำเชิญของ ฯพณฯ Prof. Dr. Ivo Josipovic ประธานาธิบดีโครเอเชียและภริยา และ Mr. Michael Zmajlovic นายกเทศมนตรีเมือง Jastrebarsko ณ ไร่ Sipkovica ของ Tomac Winery เมือง Grad Jastrebarsko ซึ่งเป็นแหล่งปลูกและผลิตไวน์ที่มีชื่อเสียงแหล่งหนึ่งของโครเอเชีย โดยเฉพาะไวน์ขาว (ตั้งอยู่ห่างจากกรุงซาเกรบ ไปทางทิศตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ประมาณ 20 กิโลเมตร) ทั้งนี้ การเก็บเกี่ยวองุ่นสำหรับการทำไวน์เป็นประเพณีที่ชาวโครเอเชียจัดขึ้นเป็นประจำในช่วงเดือนกันยายนของทุกปี

โครเอเชียเป็นประเทศที่มีประวัติการผลิตไวน์คุณภาพดีมาแต่ช้านาน ตั้งแต่ยุคกรีกโบราณที่เคยมาตั้งรกราก เมื่อ 2,500 ปีก่อน  เนื่องจากมีภูมิอากาศที่เหมาะสมสำหรับการปลูกองุ่น ทั้งภูมิอากาศแบบ “คอนติเนนตอล” ของพื้นที่ชั้นในแถบลุ่มแม่น้ำ Drava และ Sava ทางทิศตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือ และตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของประเทศ และแบบ “เมอร์ดิเตอร์เรเนียน” ของพื้นที่แถบชายฝั่งทะเล Adriatic ทางทิศตะวันตกของโครเอเชีย  อีกทั้งยังเป็นแหล่งเพาะปลูกต้นไม้โอ้กพันธุ์ Slavonia ซึ่งได้รับความนิยมนำมาใช้ทำเป็นถังหมักไวน์ในยุโรป

ปัจจุบัน เขต Istria และ Dalmatia แถบชายฝั่งทะเล Adriatic คือพื้นที่เพาะปลูกองุ่นที่มีชื่อเสียงที่สุดของโครเอเชีย มีการเพาะปลูกองุ่นหลากหลายสายพันธ์เพื่อการผลิตไวน์ทั้งขาวและแดง

Thai Ambassador to Croatia attended Diplomatic Grape Harvest hosted by the President of Croatia

On 9 September 2010, H.E. Mr. Karn Chiranond, the Thai Ambassador to Croatia, resident in Budapest, attended Diplomatic Grape Harvest upon the invitation of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ivo Josipovic, President of Croatia, and his wife and Mr. Michael Zmajlovic, Mayor of Jastrebarsko, at Sipkovica Estate of Tomac Winery in Grad Jastrebarsko, Croatia. Jastrebarsko is located about 20 kilometer south west of Zagreb and is one of the renowned wine producing regions of Croatia, especially for white wine. Grape harvest is a tradition that Croatian people undertake during the month of September every year.

Croatia has a long history as producer of good quality wine, dating back to the Ancient Greek settlers some 2,500 years ago, due to its favourable climate for grape cultivation from “continental climate” of inland areas along the Drava and Sava rivers in the northwest and southeast regions to “Mediterranean climate” of coastal regions along the Adriatic Sea on the western coast of the country. Furthermore, Croatia is also home to the Slavonian oak forest, the source of oak casks favoured by European winemakers.

At present, the coastal regions of Istria and Dalmatia along the Adriatic Sea are the most popular wine regions of Croatia, producing a wide range of grape varieties for both red and white wine.
