ออท. ณ กรุงบูดาเปสต์ เข้าร่วมพิธีรับตำแหน่งของประธานาธิบดีโครเอเชียคนใหม่
เมื่อวันที่ 18 กุมภาพันธ์ 2553 เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงบูดาเปสต์ กาญจน์ ชีรานนท์ ในฐานะผู้แทนพิเศษของรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้เข้าร่วมพิธีเข้ารับตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดีโครเอเชียคนที่ 3 ของ Prof. Dr. Ivo Josipović ณ ลานจัตุรัสเซนต์มาร์ก ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ในเขตเมืองเก่าของกรุงซาเกรบ โดยมีผู้นำหลายประเทศ อาทิ ประธานาธิบดีของฮังการี บอสเนียฯ สโลวาเกีย โปแลนด์ ฯลฯ บุคคลระดับสูง อาทิ รัฐมนตรีต่างประเทศสวีเดน รัฐมนตรีวัฒนธรรมจีน รัฐมนตรีช่วยต่างประเทศสหรัฐฯ ฯลฯ และคณะทุตานุทูตหลายประเทศเข้าร่วมพิธีด้วย
ประเทศไทยและโครเอเชียได้สถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างกันเมื่อวันที่ 9 กันยายน 2535 มีความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีตลอดมาและมีการแลกเปลี่ยนการเยือนระดับสูงอยู่เป็นประจำ ปัจจุบัน ทั้งสองประเทศมีความสนใจร่วมมือกันในด้านการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยว การประมง และการกีฬา
Ambassador of Thailand to Hungary attended the inauguration of the new Croatian President
On 18 February 2010, H.E. Mr. Karn Chiranond, the Thai Ambassador to Hungary and Special Envoy of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand attended the inauguration of the 3rd Croatian President-elect Prof. Dr. Ivo Josipović. The Ceremony, held at St. Marks Square in the Old Town area of Zagreb, was attended by a number of foreign leaders such as Presidents of Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia and Poland; senior representatives such as Foreign Minister of Sweden, Cultural Minister of China and Deputy State Secretary of USA; as well as Heads of the diplomatic corps.
Thailand and Croatia established diplomatic relations on 9 September 1992. Both countries enjoyed cordial relations with frequent exchange visits of senior-level representatives. At present, there are interests for bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism, fisheries and sports.
