On 30 August 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest organised the Thai Festival 2025 at Westend Tetőkert, Budapest, Hungary. The event was opened by H.E. Mr. Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, Ambassador of Thailand to Hungary.
The festival included a wide range of cultural activities including Muay Thai traditional performances and Muay Thai Demonstration from the national Muay Thai athletes from Thailand,
traditional dance performances by the performers from Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts, and cooking demonstrations by Chef Preecha Boonbutta from Im-oon Thai restaurant. Moreover, booths run by Thai and foreign entrepreneurs offered a variety of Thai food, desserts, drinks, fashion and cosmetic products, and Thai massage services. The Thai Trade Center in Budapest had a booth to showcase Thai products and offer investment advice. There was also a booth from Wat Thairattanaprateep, Budapest, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of Buddhism. Additionally, Thai Student Association in Hungary run a booth presenting traditional Thai plays and giving away the booklet of the festival containing the information about Thailand and the festive, Thai restaurants and Thai massage services in Budapest, discounts on participating shops, and a quiz game to win prizes.
The festival concluded with the lucky draws for one round-trip ticket from Budapest to Bangkok, sponsored by Turkish Airlines. Quizzes about Thailand to win prizes from Thai and Hungarian businesses such as Anantara New York Palace Budapest, De Lanna Thai Massage.
The Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest would like to thank all the supporters, Thai and foreign business owners who offered Thai products, and the Thai community in Hungary for their contributions to the event despite the stormy weather that forced an early end for everyone’s safety.
