On 1 June 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest and Wat Thai Rattanaprateep, Budapest organised a Buddhist ceremony to mark Vesak Day.
The ceremony was led by Phrasamu Pornthep Bhavadhammo and presided over by H.E. Mr. Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Hungary. The event was well attended by Embassy officials, staff, and their families, as well as members of the Thai community.

Activities included the almsgiving ceremony, chanting of Buddhist precepts, and the candlelight procession commemorating Vesak Day. This auspicious day marks three important events on the full moon day of the sixth lunar month—the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Lord Buddha.
