Thailand will host the 2nd Thailand Yacht Show on 15-18 December 2016 in Phuket to promote the kingdom's potential as the hub of maritime tourism and cruiseliner in Asia in order to attract more high-end tourists and promote related industry such as ship building and maintenance.

The 2nd Thailand Yacht Show will be organized back-to-back with the Thailand Marine Business Association Yacht Charter Week on 12-14 December 2016 and the King's Cup Regatta on 4-10 December 2016. It will consist of exhibition of the country's potential in accommodating tourists traveling by sea, exhibition of 42 yachts and cruiseliners and demonstration of water sport equipments.

Currently, Thailand has 6 yacht marinas on the Andaman coast and 5 more on the Gulf of Thailand coast, totalling 11, which is still not sufficient to accommodate the rising demand.
