On 14 July 2015, the Ambassador of Thailand hosted a luncheon in honour of Mr. Istvan Simicsko, Chairman of the Hungarian - Thai Parliamentarian Friendship Group at the Thai Residence.

                       During the luncheon, Mr. Istvan stated that he admired the political developments in Thailand and expressed his confidence that the current government would help return political stability to Thailand. The Thai Ambassador informed the Hungarian delegation that the Thailand is currently in the process of revising the constitution, and that general elections may be held as early as next year. Furthermore, both sides also discussed prospective cooperation between Thailand in the field of culture and sports, whereby the Thai Ambassador informed that on 26 July 2015, the Thai Embassy would be hosting a Thai Festival in Budapest and invited members of the Parliamentarian Friendship Group to attend the event.
