The holder of a transit visa will be allowed to stay in Thailand for 30 days without extension. Applicants are not permitted to engage in any occupation or employment. A confirmed ticket for the onward destination must be shown to the officer at the port of entry.

1. Purpose of Visit: This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes

    1. To travel in transit through the Kingdom in order to proceed to the country of destination or to re-enter his/her own country (Category “TS”);

* Travellers who wish to transit at the international airports in Thailand less than 12 hours, only in the transit area at the airport, do not need to obtain a visa.

    2. To participate in sports activities (sportsmen, sportswomen, etc.) (Category “S”);

* Those who are scheduled to stay in Thailand longer than one month can apply for the Non-Immigrant Visa category “O.”

    3. The person in charge or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area in the Kingdom (Category “C”).

*Short Transit to Other Destinations

Foreigners, who travel via Thailand to other destinations from the same port of entry, are allowed to transit without a visa. In this regard, the Thai Immigration Division is authorized to instruct the airlines or persons in charge of the transit to ensure that the transit passengers remain in a prescribed area. Should the transit passengers be forced for any reason to remain in the prescribed area for a period longer than expected, the Immigration Division may allow such passengers to do so under guarantees by the airlines or persons in charge of the transit.

3. Required Documents:

    1. Passport or travel document with validity at least 6 months from the intended date of Arrival in Thailand.

    2. Visa application form completely filled out.

    3. One passport size photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months.

    4. Copy of a residence card—in case of foreigners.

    5. Copy of return ticket (to and out of Thailand). In case of category “TS” (transit), a copy of the ticket from Thailand to the third country (country of final destination) has to be presented as well.

    6. Copy of hotel reservation or other evidence of accommodation reservation.

    7. Copy of visa of a third country in a passport or travel document.

    1. In case of applying for Visa Category “S” (Sport)

        •  Letter of invitation from the organizer in Thailand

        •  Supporting letter in English from an institution in Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, or Kosovo stating the applicant’s participation in sports activities in Thailand

    2. In case of applying for Visa Category “C” (Crew)

        •  Supporting letter from the company in Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, or Kosovo AND in Thailand
