On March 17, 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest, in collaboration with the Thai Student Association in Hungary, hosted an event to strengthen the Thai community in Hungary at Aranytíz House of Culture. There were around 80 Thai people attending the event.
The event began with the opening remark from Ambassador Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, emphasising the main objectives of this event which were to provide knowledge about the new immigration laws that affect the Thai community, to strengthen the Thai community in Hungary, and to enhance the relationship between the Thai community and the Royal Thai Embassy. Following this, Mr. Nopakhun Luichant, Minister Counsellor, explained the framework of the Royal Thai Embassy's mission, particularly in consular affairs, to provide the Thai community with a better understanding of this framework. After that, Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Kristóf Jáger, Director of the Aliens Policing Directorate, gave a presentation on the new immigration laws, followed by a Q&A session. Additionally, the President of the Thai Student Association in Hungary introduced its role and expressed its intention to cooperate with the Thai community to further build a strong and beneficial network for the Thai community in Hungary.
