On 16 December 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest hosted a visit by the International Diplomatic Student Association (IDSA). During the visit, H.E. Mr. Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Hungary, gave a welcoming remark. After that, Mr. Konglarp Tinnakorn na Ayudhya, Counsellor, gave a briefing on Thailand’s key foreign policy priorities, the Embassy’s operations, as well as general information on the bilateral relations between Thailand and Hungary and Western Balkan countries. The programme also provided students with the opportunity to inquire about diplomatic careers and professional experiences.

At the end of the briefing, the students had the opportunity to participate in a brainstorm session to make a proposal on how to advance Thai-Hungarian relations. Notable proposals are as follows: (1) to work towards the opening of Thailand-Hungary direct flight, (2) to promote the exchange of students, (3) to promote Thai traditional medicine in Hungary and to cooperate on alternative medicine, (4) to make Thai cultural media more accessible to Hungarians, such as dubbing Thai films in Hungarian and translation of Thai literature into Hungarian, and (5) to create a narrative in the promotion of Thai soft power.
