On 20 March 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest, led by H.E. Mr. Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Hungary, participated in the event “Village de la Francophonie” on the occasion of the International Day of la Francophonie. The event was organized by the French Institute of Hungary, in Thailand’s capacity as an observer state of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF)

On this occasion, Mr. Matthieu Berton, Director of the French Institute of Hungary, welcomed and introduced the Ambassador to a variety of activites, including Language Cafe, Francophonie quiz with schools, food and cultural booths. The Embassy also served Pad Thai to participants and presented Khon masks of Hanuman and Kumbhakarna from the Ramayana, which was an opportunity to promote Thailand’s traditional food and the art of masked dance-drama.
