      • Registration on Thailand Pass for travelers entering Thailand from 1 May 2022 under new entry measures will be opened from 29 April 2022 onwards (00.01 hrs Thailand time).

        From 1 May 2022, travelers entering Thailand by air will be subject to new entry measures, as follows;

        • 1. Fully Vaccinated Persons must:
          • Register on Thailand Pass
          • Attach required documents including passport, certificate of vaccination
          • Attach proof of insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
          • (COVID-19 test, both prior to and after arriving in Thailand, is no longer required)
        • 2. Unvaccinated Persons
          • Option 1 - Exemption from quarantine Travelers with a negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before traveling must :
            • Register on Thailand Pass
            • Attach required documents including passport, and COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before traveling (must attach on Thailand Pass only)
            • Attach proof of insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
            • (Any COVID-19 test after arriving in Thailand is not required)
            • PLEASE NOTE Travelers who have been approved to enter Thailand under AQ scheme but wish to enter Thailand under exemption from quarantine must re-apply on Thailand Pass.
          • Option 2 - Quarantine Travelers who cannot undergo an RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before traveling or wish to be quarantined must :
            • Register on Thailand Pass
            • Attach required documents including passport, Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel confirmation for 5 days (including 1 RT-PCR test)
            • Attach proof of insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
            • undergo an RT-PCR test on Day 4 - 5 in Thailand during the mandatory 5-day quarantine at AQ hotel
            • PLEASE NOTE Travelers whose Thailand Pass have already been issued can travel with the issued QR Code and do not need to register for new Thailand Pass.

  1. QR Code generated through Thailand Pass Pre-Travel Registration System: http://tp.consular.go.th 
    • All travellers wishing to enter Thailand must complete pre-travel registration via "Thailand Pass" (http://tp.consular.go.th) AT LEAST 7 DAYS BEFORE DEPARTURE.
    • Children under 18 travelling with parents should register for Thailand Pass QR Code together with their parents/guardians and not separately.
    • Problems with Thailand Pass Registration? Try the following
      • Use non-hotmail/outlook email to register; the system does not yet support registrations with hotmail or outlook accounts.
      • Upload only JPG, JPEG or PNG files; PDF files are not supported.
      • Make sure that all files uploaded can be read clearly. Files that cannot be read will be rejected.
      • Make sure that you upload evidence of BOTH doses (1/2 & 2/2) of vaccination (except Johnson & Johnson). Registration with only 2nd dose will be rejected.
      • Make sure that you upload evidence of hotel reservation (with AQ or SHA+ hotels) that includes airport pick-up and RT-PCR test (please see hotel requirements below).
  2. Certificate of Vaccination 
    • issued by a government authority, containing personal information of the travellers (name, date of birth, passport number) and information on the vaccine (name, batch number, vaccination dates). 
    • Without the certificate of vaccination, travellers are required to enter 10-day quarantine at an AQ hotel.
    • Accepted vaccinesSinovac (2 doses, 2 weeks apart) / AstraZeneca (2 doses, 4 weeks apart) / Johnson & Johnson (1 dose) / Pfizer (2 doses, 3 weeks apart) / Moderna (2 doses, 4 weeks apart) / Sinopharm (2 doses, 3 weeks apart) / Sputnik V (2 doses, 3 weeks apart) / Covaxin (2 doses, 4 weeks apart) / Novavax/Nuvavocid (2 doses, 14 days apart) / Medigen (2 doses, 4 weeks) / Sputnik Light - accepted for Sandbox scheme only (1 dose)
    • If the duration between two doses are less than that set by the manufacturer, the certificate of vaccination will be rejected.
    • Combination of different vaccines is accepted provided that the period between the 1st and 2nd dose was in accordance with the period set by the manufacture of the first dose.
    • Those infected and have recovered may present certificate of recovery together with evidence of 1 dose of vaccination administered after infectionWithout any vaccination, the person will not be considered as fully vaccinated, even if they have certificate of recovery. 
    • Children under 12 travelling with parents are exempted from having to present a certificate of vaccination.
    • Children above the age of 12 but under 18 are required to present a certificate of vaccination showing 1 dose of vaccination, unless they are travelling with parents, in which case they will be exempted from having to present a certificate of vaccination.
  3. Hotel confirmation that meets the requirements of the chosen scheme
    • TEST & GO (no quarantine)
      • fully-paid SHA Extra+ or Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel reservation for 1 night, inclusive of airport pick-up, RT-PCR test & ATK self-test.
    • SANDBOX (no quarantine but travel limited within designated area for 5 days) 
      • SHA Extra+ hotel reservation for at least 5 day, and evidence of payment for RT-PCR test, ATK self-test & airport pick-up.
      • Reservation must also show evidence of full pre-payment or deposit payment of no-less than 15,000 THB.
      • Phuket Sandbox also requires pre-payment for RT-PCR test & ATK self-test through www.thailandpsas.com
    • ALTERNATIVE QUARANTINE (5-day quarantine)
      • AQ hotel booking for quarantine of 5 daysinclusive of 1 RT-PCR tests AND airport pick-up, showing evidence of full pre-payment or deposit payment of no-less than 15,000 THB
  4. Health insurance in English with a minimum coverage of 20,000 USD (only for non-Thai travellers)
    • The insurance should cover the whole intended period of stay in Thailand.
    • Travellers may purchase their health insurance which meets Thailand's entry criteria herehttp://covid19.tgia.org/
  5. From 1 April 2022, travellers are no longer required to present negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hrs. before departure.
  6. Valid visa or re-entry permit, unless the travellers are qualified for visa exemption schemes.

Important Remarks on travelling to Phuket & Samui

  • Domestic transfer from Bangkok to Samui/Phuket is possible ONLY through SEALED ROUTE flights (if available).
  • These sealed route flights MUST be booked in a single booking in conjunction with the international flight to Bangkok.
  • For example, OS25 and PG5171 (Vienna-Bangkok-Samui) must be booked with, and issued by, Austrian Airlines in a single booking. This is to ensure that lugguage is checked through from Vienna to Samui, as the travellers will not be able to leave the transit area to re-checkin their bags.

 INTERNATIONAL TRANSIT/TRANSFER PASSENGERS AT SUVARNABHUMI OR DON-MUEANG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Travellers transitting/transferring at Suvarnabhumi or Don-Mueang International Airport (lay-over time not exceeding 24 hours / check-through luggage only / cannot leave transit area / final destination is outside of Thailanddo not need to register for Thailand Pass, but are required to have the following documents:

  • Medical Certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected, using RT-PCR method, which has been certified or issued no more than 72 hours before departure, OR certificate of vaccination showing that the last dose was administered no less than 14 days before the date of departure.
  • Travel health insurance covering health care and treatment expenses for COVID-19 disease, or any other guarantee throughout their stay in the Kingdom, with a coverage of no less than 50,000 USD. This requirement (insurance) does not apply to Thai travellers.
