On 1 May 2026, Mr. Wajanai Snidvongs Na Ayudhya, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest and their families, participated in the Thai New Year (Songkran) celebration organised by Wat Thai Rattanaprateep in Budapest. On this occasion, the Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., presided over the lay ceremony and presented a donation of 245,000 forints to the Thai-Magyar Templom Buddhista Egyesület in recognition of its continued support for the Embassy’s consular activities.

The event featured an almsgiving ceremony for auspiciousness and blessings, a Miss Songkran contest, as well as Thai cultural performances, including traditional Thai dances, Thai musical performances, and demonstration of Muay Thai.
