H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand visited Bosnia and Herzegovina on 24-26 May 2016 and had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Josip Brkic, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 25 May 2016. At the meeting, H.E. Mrs. Kanthong Unakul, Ambassador of Thailand to Bosnia and Herzegovina with residence in Budapest was also present.

The two sides discussed on issues to strengthen bilateral relations such as the establishment of a consultation mechanism, the signing of the Agreement on the Exemption of Visa for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passport and the promotion of technical cooperation whereby Thailand invites Bosnia and Herzegovina to nominate candidates to apply for training fellowship in Thailand in the fields of health, nutrition and green growth. Thailand also requested support for its candidature to the non-permanent seat of the UNSC for the term 2017-2018.
