On 29 January 2016, H.E. Mrs. Kanthong Unakul, Ambassador of Thailand to Montengro with residence in Budapest presented her credentials to H.E. Mr. Filip Vujanovic, President of Montenegro at the Blue Palace in Cetinje. The Ambassador discussed with President Vujanovic on issues of mutual benefits such as the opening of an honorary consulate of Montenegro in Thailand, cooperation on tourism and the request from Thailand that Montenegro support its candidature for the UNSC membership 2017-2018.

On the same day, Ambassador Kanthong also paid courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Igor Jojovic, State Secretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro.
