On 14 January 2016, the Command Center for Combatting Illegal Fishing (CCCIF) held a press conference to provide latest updates on the efforts in combatting IUU fishing.

On 15 January 2016, the Joint Steering Committee for Commerce, industry and Banking (JSCCIB), on behalf of the pribate sector, pledged to cooperate with the government to combat IUU fishing in accordane with the principle of law, international standard and ethic. It will also suspend membership of companies that are involved in illegal activities or human trafficking.
